This 9-Year-Old Got Made Fun Of For His Long Hair, But He Had An Inspiring Reason For It
Despite having far more years of life experience, sometimes, it's us adults that should be taking lessons from children, not the other way around.Â
Nine-year-old, Christian McPhilamy, is an absolutely perfect example.
After seeing an ad for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the then 6-year-old was deeply moved. So much so that he felt compelled to do something to help the cancer-stricken children in the commercial. After doing some thorough researching with his parents, he discovered the initiative, Children With Hair Loss.
During that time, he endured an onslaught of criticism and bullying. From being called "a girl" and getting laughed at countless times, to being told by his coaches and various parents to cut his hair, with some even offering him money.
As his proud mother said while he was still growing his hair, "Even still, he has never once, strayed from his goal and always took the time to educate others on why he made the choice to grow his hair. I am one proud mommy as always."
Always have a heart for others, and never let obstacles or others discourage you from doing what truly makes you happy.
Speaking on behalf of every adult out there, thank you for the wonderful inspiration Christian!
