This Artist Transforms Popular Iconic Art Pieces Into Batman Pop Art
Artist Vartan Garnikyan, like any well-studied artist, is a huge fan of the greats. Van Gogh, da Vinci, Picasso, you get the idea.
But along with being a fond admirer of iconic artists like these, he's also fanatical Batman fan. So much so, it's inspired him to make it the central theme of much of his work - arguably his best work. By combining that with his passion for iconic classical art, Garnikyan creates brilliant Batman-inspired renditions of the classics, that are just too incredible not to love.
"I’ve had some negative feedback over the years with people saying things like, “This isn’t art, you’re disgracing a masterpiece, etc.†as if I’m doing it to insult the artists..." says Garnikyan.
"But truth be told, I see it as paying homage to them. I try to paint a new classic Batman piece every year, and each project is well thought-out, planned for a long time, and worked on for months!"
