This Capsule Is The Best Way To Get Off The Grid But Still Live In Luxury

by N/A, 10 years ago | 2 min read

In our modern day, the technology curve is constantly steepening, and developments are becoming increasingly more significant, and more socially impactful.

Perhaps what has defined this trend of rapid technological advancement the most has been the progression of eco-friendly innovations. They are no longer trendy or faddish. They are no longer just for show. They're changing the way we do things - the way we think and live. The "Ecocapsule" from Nice Architects, is no exception.

Come 2016, you will officially be able to live of the grid in an Ecocapsule.
They are entirely self-sufficient and naturally powered, running off of only wind and solar power.

The wind power is harnessed by its collapsible turbine, and the solar power is generated by the strips of solar panels on its roof. It also collects and filtrates rain water.

It's clean, well-designed interior comfortably sleeps two and has roughly 8 square meters of total space.

“The biggest challenge was to integrate all the different technologies into the small body of the pod and still have some space left for people,” stated Nice Architects representatives.

And while these pods are meant primarily for travel and camping...
They can also be deployed for emergency purposes as well, should circumstances dictate.
The range of potential purposes they could serve is diverse. From an independent research station to a tourist lodge, to a humanitarian-action unit, Ecocapsules are most certainly versatile.
They're also incredibly homey.

A built-in kitchenette with running water, a flushing toilet and a water-heating shower are all included in the Ecocapsule's interior. The walls are also intelligently insulated for cold winter months.

And while some people may want one as a precaution for an apocalypse or tragic natural event, others may just one one simply to see the world in.
