This Airplane Hangar is the Perfect Winter Vacation Spot. What's Inside May Surprise You
There are tons of beautiful vacation spots around the world to choose from - so many, it's almost a struggle to choose just one. The Maldives, Bora Bora, Hawaii, The Galapagos Islands, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, you get the idea.
Notice any trends though? These places, which are among the hottest vacation spots out there, are all exotic islands in warm-weather climates - all laden with tropical trees, white sand beaches, and turquoise reefs. It's no wonder they're so widely adored.
But what if someone told you, you could find these same things in Germany in the dead of winter. Would you believe them? My guess is, probably not.
In the winter, Brandenburg can reach chilling subzero temperatures, as low as -30 degrees. In the summer, temperatures reach, at most, the upper 60's.
Inside the mammoth structure, which is 1,200 feet long, 700 feet wide and 350 feet high, sits Tropical Islands Resort - a magnificent indoor tropical getaway, complete with sandy beaches, exotic greenery, and vibrant turquoise pools as far as the eye can see.
In the middle of a barren winterland, no less.
Duh.
Absolutely.
Patrons can also rent out beachside cabanas for a little nap or some private time.
Or, if you're in an adventurous mood, you can get a birds-eye view of the entire resort in one of the hot air balloons.
They also offer fitness classes such as yoga, aerobics, and even different dance classes.
The building is kept at a pleasant 78 degrees at all times, and even has a retractable glass roof to let in sunlight on clear days.
