France just created a new law stating that supermarkets are not allowed to throw away edible food.
In an attempt to cut down on wasting, this new law will make it illegal for supermarkets to throw away food that is still edible.
The food will now have to either be donated to a charity or turned into compost or animal feed.Â
This is an amazing law considering how many people it will help and how positive it will be for the environment.
The Independent has reported on the issue that many people are happy with this new law as throwing away so much food is wasteful and could be used in so many other ways to help people.Â
