A Design Student Has Proposed A Flag For The Entire Planet, And It's Kind Of Brilliant

As we continue to venture further outside our planet, the need for one flag that represents all of Earth is increased. Luckily, design student Oskar Pernefeldt has come up with an idea that does just that.
The flag is simple and elegant, with seven interlocking rings, creating a flower, which represent both life on earth, and the fact that all things are connected on a background of deep blue, representing the oceans that cover most of the planet's surface.
One of the main uses Pernefeldt can see the flag being used for is space exploration.
"Current expeditions in outer space use different national flags depending on which country is funding the voyage. The space travelers, however, are more than just representatives of their own countries. They are representatives of planet Earth," Pernefeldt explains on his website.
Pernefeldt also hopes the flag reminds people that we all share the planet, and we should take care of it.
