If You Were On the Fence About Adopting a Pet, This Ad Campaign May Change Your Mind

If you're an animal shelter, how do you capture people's interest to adopt animals that have yet to find homes? Well, you could just promote more and hope for the best, but that probably wouldn't be enough.
You have to promote creatively - do something that catches people's attention. That's exactly what Ottawa Humane Society did for their animals. How exactly? By using the force.
The Ottawa Humane Society decided to use Star Wars villains as a part of a photoshoot promoting their animals without homes.
The bizarre yet adorable shoot was orchestrated by the group's volunteer photographer, Rohit Saxena.
You can visit his site here, which is filled with a bevy of other great animal-centric projects.
It's all part of the organization's "Light or Dark" campaign.
And no, it doesn't have anything to do with the color of the animals.
The idea for the title was born from one of Ottawa Humane Society's central beliefs.
And that's that “there are no sides when it comes to helping animals."
Now, not only has the campaign received national attention and publicity...
It's also gained the attention of Luke Skywalker.
Mark Hamill himself, commended the cause on Twitter.
A campaign like this doesn't deserve a thumbs up.
It deserves a standing-O.
