Students and Geology/Earth Science professors at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY have been participating in a pretty sweet project known simply as The Lava Project. The project includes lava pours that produce lava flows that are to-scale of those that happen in nature, using Basaltic lava, which is very similar to lava you'd find erupting from a volcano. The project includes all sorts of awesome experiments with the lava...but one in particular stood out to us.Â
The team of geologists and geology students decided to cook up some steaks over a lava flow! Molten lava reaches upwards of 1300 degrees Fahrenheit...so this might be the fastest grill session in history!
