The Praying Mantis is a fascinating creature. Their appearance alone is mystifying...they're like something from a prehistoric world, shrunk down into insect form.Â
It's this fascination that drives Zana Briski's short film about the creatures.Â
The film shows them eating and grooming, really through all walks of life, and explores the different faces they make. It's aesthetically very beautiful, but it's also an intriguing look at a species very different from our own.
This is part of a larger traveling film exhibition from Briski called "REVERENCE Migrating Museum."
