It's easy to say "oh, we're all the way across from everyone over in China!" Or "Can you believe your grandfather is from Ghana? That's all the way across the world!" But...is it really true?Â
The world is round and big, and our perception of where each nation is in relation to other nations can be very skewed as a result of this.Â
But thanks to Max Ehrenfreund of The Washington Post, those of us from the Americas can get some better insight into what exactly "across the world" means. I never knew I was right across from Portugal!
Seattle is across from Russia.
San Francisco is across from Japan.
Cabo San Luca and Taiwan are across from one another.
Costa Rica is across from the Phillipines.
Chile is across the world from itself.
Mauritania is across from Puerto Rico.
Morocco is across Savannah, GA.
