This Kid Wrote to George Lucas With An Important Question, And He Got An Awesome Response

Young Padawan Colin Gilpatrick is a 7-year-old who knows what he wants, and that is the ability to get married while still following the righteous Jedi path. Is that too much to ask!?Â

Colin didn't think so, and so he wrote to George Lucas telling him that this business of Jedi Knights not being able to marry just wasn't going to cut it for him.

And I mean while you have George Lucas's attention you've gotta fish for a Skywalker Ranch invite because when else are you gonna get THAT opportunity?Â

And LucasFilm ACTUALLY RESPONDED to Colin!

Not did they respond...they did it in a pretty amazing way. Here is the text from the letter that LucasFilm sent back:

Hello, Colin,

Thank you so much for writing to us with your question. It sounds like the Force is strong with you, and you are showing great wisdom by asking your question. To be a Jedi is to truly know the value of friendship, of compassion, and of loyalty, and these are values important in a marriage. The Sith think inward, only of themselves. When you find someone that you can connect to in a selfless way, then you are on the path of the light, and the dark side will not take hold of you. With this goodness in your heart, you can be married.

In addition to the heartfelt letter, they sent some pretty sweet swag, including comic books.

The parents were savvy enough to record the reaction and we are SO grateful, because it may be the sweetest thing we've ever seen.
