What This Dad Does for His Down Syndrome Son in Photos is Incredibly Touching

With five kids, photographerÂ Alan LawrenceÂ is very much a family man. He and his wife live in beautiful Utah, where he has no shortage of scenery to capture. AndÂ while Lawrence has compiled quite the portfolio of the years, his greatest work may be his most recent.

The series features his son Wil - the couple's adorable, happy-go-lucky one-year-old, who already has a knack for adventure. Born with Down syndrome though, inevitably, parts of life will become uniquely challenging for Wil - a reality Lawrence and his wife are more than willing to take on. But in an effort to capture Wil's unrivaled free spirit, and show that limitations truly are mere perception, the dad-photographer captured his son doing what no other 1-year-olds out there can do...fly.

Lawrence plainly - and fittingly - named the adorable series, "Flying Baby"

And as you can see...

Wil enjoys showing off his acrobatics quite a bit.

Lawrence, who is not a only a gifted photographer, but talented photo editor as well...

Achieves the images by holding Wil up, then editing himself out after.

And they're simply too charming and adorable not to smile at.

By his admission, they're easily Lawrence's favorite pictures, among the thousands he's captured.

And that's probably because, for the father photographer, they hold a great deal of significance...

"These photos of Wil flying have taken on a special meaning for me as I think about the unique challenges Wil is going to face growing up..."

Hopefully one day, when he's older, Wil will find them inspiring in the way his dad always intended for them to be.
