This Experimental Drum Kit Was Created By Motorcycle Designers, And It's Incredible
Yamaha makes a broad range of different products, but really, when it comes down to it, the bulk of their focus goes into two key things: instruments and motorcycles. And as one might assume, they have two corresponding design teams.
Well, in a recent experimental project they did titled, AH A MAY (Yamaha backwards), the company swapped design teams, appointing each division to design a product for the other. As one could imagine, this resulted in some fairly interesting creations. And although we're sure the instrument division came up with something awesome, we're choosing to focus on what the motorcycle division created - an entirely new instrument.
"Raijin" is the Japanese go of thunder - appropriately named.
"The design resembles a globe and allows performers to let their imaginations run wild on an assortment of different kinds of drums," says one representative from Design Center, Yamaha Motor Co.
