Dating isn't what it use to be. Not even close. And it doesn't take a genius to know that.
Nowadays, if you really get down to it, you won't find an abundance of couples that are dating because they're in love, or because they're trying to find the right person, or learn about themselves, or figure out what kinds of qualities they most enjoy in a person.
It's more about having someone because "being single sucks," or dating someone for their looks and social status, or because "they also love going to EDM festivals."
Jokes aside, while many couples don't have a good understanding of what it means to have a substantive relationship with someone, there are certainly plenty that do. And there's a strong chance that these couples go out with each other on the regular. Because dinner dates are more critical to a good relationship than you think. Why? Well, here's a laundry list of reasons.
1. Real bonding happens over meals.
2. If you can watch each other eat, you can do anything together.
3. The more wine, the more honesty.
4. You get to show off your knowledge of obscure, hidden-gem restaurants...
5. Or try new things together.
6. It provides the perfect opportunity to see how your SO treats others.
7. If things go well, it only leads to better things.
8. If you're a guy, you get to show off how financially solid you are.
9. They're perfect for unwinding together after a long week.
12. They require absolutely zero prep work...
10. Or recapping the great ones.
10. Or cleanup.
11. You get to try new things together and watch each other's priceless reactions.
14. You're more inclined to be calm and civil, even during strong disagreements.
15. Each time you go out is completely new experience...
16. And that's worth getting excited about.
17. It's an opportunity to get snazzed up.
18. More often that not, there's always a couple that will make you feel good about yourselves.
19. The options are endless, and the choice is all yours.
20. You get to reminisce about when you first met, which was obviously magical.
