Adrien M and Claire B Company have created an incredible display of movement and technology with their performance piece called Hakanaï. The performance taps into the fragile, temporary nature of life using dance and lights that create different images as the piece flows together. Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne have been working together since 2004 at their research and creativity workshop in Lyon, France.Â
Hanakaï is a Japanese word that represents something fragile and transient that takes place between dreams and reality.
The digital animations move along with the rhythm of the sounds in the performance space.
Adrien M/Claire B Company use software and tools that were developed and customized for the purpose of the performance.
Their aim is to create a sense of timelessness and relatability and to activate emotion and imagination.
