For hundreds of years, photographers have attempted to capture the unbridled power of the ocean, while also still fully portraying its ethereal beauty. It's one of the most technically and artistically challenging feats for any nature photographer.
Highly acclaimed, Australia-based, Ray Collins, happens to be one of the few who is able to accomplish such a thing.
In this particular series, Collins captures the the collision of waves at their highest point of ascension.
Capturing them at this moment gives the waves the appearance eerily akin to mountain peaks.
And it's almost looks as if they're frozen in time.
Collins is fervently passionate about the ocean and it's endless dynamics
"I feel more at home floating in saltwater with his camera than anywhere on land," Collins writes.
And that's definitely evident in his magnificent work.
