Axel Winter saw a potentially horrible situation and turned it into something kind of amazing.Â
While Axel Winter was peforming in Sydney's Pitt Street Mall, he overhead a preacher soapboxing and saying extremely derogatory, ignorant things that were offensive to the LGBT community.
Said Winter: "He was saying some very demeaning things, like 'today, God hates you the most if you are a homosexual.' I then proceeded to take a stand, so I took my gear over behind him and asked the crowd to ignore his words of hate and come and sing some words of love."
In the video, it's pretty clear that his idea was a great success. The music sounds great, and very effectively overpowers the hateful message of his neighbor.
