With the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain, besetting the area, Kirstenbosch is the first botanic garden in the world to be encompassed by a natural World Heritage Site. Established in 1913, the 36-hectare garden is part of a larger 528-hectare nature reserve.
In commemoration of 100th year anniversary of Kirstenbosch in 2013, the park constructed the Centenary Tree Canopy Walkway, which eventually opened to the public in 2014. It's unobstructed views of the mountains, lush trees, and of Cape Town are truly breathtaking, and attract more and more visitors each month.
