By Combining Photos This Photographer Creates Optical Illusions That Will Blow Your Mind
We've all seen optical illusions before. If you hadn't first seen them as a kid - at museums or fun-houses or in art class - you've almost certainly seen some of the more popular ones floating around the internet. They're inexplicable and mesmerizing, our brains feebly trying to provide a logical explanation for what our eyes are taking in.
In the end though, we know that images are unnatural or distorted in a way that deceived us into seeing something that's not truly there. Swedish photographer and retoucher, Erik Johansson doesn't abide by ocular "smoke and mirrors" though. He creates composite pictures by combining dozens, sometimes over a hundred photographs in a way that looks illusionary and artificial, but at the same time, eerily real.
