Scared Of This Foreboding Whirlpool? It's Actually Way More Than You Think

Art takes on different forms for everyone. Some people paint, some people take photographs, some people sing or dance.
Artist Anish Kapoor's latest piece of art work, "Descension," comes in the form of a deep dark vortex of swirling water, and while it may not be the most traditional artistic expression, it is pretty fascinating.
The whirlpool, of nearly black water, gives the impression of being endless to viewers.
It's located in Fort Kochi, India, and it plays with two concepts that Kapoor believes are important notions in artistic pieces—skin and scale.
In the piece, the "skin" is being broken by the ever-changing and constantly breaking wave of the whirlpool. The scale is interesting because while the whirlpool does appear to be endless, it's placed very close to the sea, juxtaposed both in scale, where the whirlpool is much smaller and more confined, as well as peacefulness, where the whirlpool is far less peaceful than the world beyond it.
The piece is a perfect reflection of the artist, an extremely thoughtful man known for his contemplative art.
