World War II yielded some extremely bizarre jobs. You may think your job history is strange, but can you say you have any of these on your resume?
1. Playwrights
A group of American writers was put together to write some films regarding civilian experience, but also to write up some pamphlets regarding healthy practices.
2. Artist
There were American artists who actually helped design decoy armies made of rubber designed to trick the German troops.
3. Dog Trainer
The K-9 Corps was a very real and important thing in World War II, and there were people who helped make that happen.
4.Link Celestial Navigation Trainer Operator
This is an overly complicated way of someone who helped prepare flight crews.
5. Balloon Rigger
Aerial warfare was a big part of World War II, and air balloons were very much a part of that.
6. Smoke Generator Operator
OK, so Beyonce wasn't actually a smoke generator operator in World War II. This job was for people who were in charge of smoke screen generators so they could use them for deception purposes.
7. Sound recorder
These people weren't DJs or sound mixers sort of like their title suggests, but people who could help track the origin of the gunfire of enemies.
8. Pigeoneer
Pigeons helped deliver messages during the war (with an absolutely outrageous 90% success rate) but needed someone to watch over them.
9. Crystal Grinder
Quartz wafers were necessary as oscillators in radio transmission, and these people crafted them.
10. Bandsman (Snare drum)
America needed bands to play at events and help recruit war support, and actually created an Army Music School to teach people how to play the music they needed.
