Normally, hotel luxury suites are elegant, sumptuous, and leagues more beautiful than their neighboring, far less expensive suites and rooms. However, this luxury suite, or luxury "fuselage" rather, is leagues above most others out there.
When the San Jose Airport in Costa Rica had an old, dilapidated Boeing 727 they wanted to dispose of, Hotel Costa Verde owner Allan Templeton saw an opportunity. He wanted the plane for building materials for a new luxury suite. A brand new 727 nowadays is upwards of $20 million - San Jose Airport donated it to Hotel Verde for free, just to get it off their hands.
So what on earth could Allan Templeton possibly have been able to do with a old, run-down airplane you ask? This.
It started with the beat-up, corroded shell of the fuselage
The massive structure then had to be broken up into segments to be successfully transported
Then, it's hoisted up into the Costa Rican jungle
Once mounted and in place, the support structures and surrounding canopy is built around it
And after months of tireless construction, the beautiful suite is finished
There are two mahogany balconies that beset the cabin, resting on each wing
The cockpit was converted into a bathroom, with a view of the ocean in the shower
The beautiful dining room, with the living area just behind it
The living area is a full yard lower than the first half of the fuselage, making it feel even more spacious
The interior is lined with stained Teak wood, to give the suite an inviting, homey feel
The views on the right balcony are breath-taking
That goes for the right balcony as well
This incredible suite is without question, truly one a kind
