It's like a Greek tragedy. It really is.
First, you walk in there lookin', smellin', feelin' like a million bucks.
Only thing not on point is your mani/pedi, and that's about to change.
If you're with your mother, we can 100% guarantee they will make a joke about how the two of you must be sisters.
Hilarious as always and not at ALL played out!
The moment they start painting your nails, it becomes clear that the color is NOT how it appeared in the bottle.
"Why don't you have a boyfriend"
"Why do your cuticles look like literal shit?"
Why don't you just file my damn nails and leave my dating life and shitty cuticles out of this!
"Do you want an eyebrow wax too?" What does that mean...?
The moment where you realize restaurant tipping rules probably don't apply here, and you need to do some quick decision-making.
You show them a photo that you think will perfectly exhibit the simple nail job you would like done for today!
They do not follow the photo.
You almost bump your hand while you're standing up from the chair but make a last minute save.
You try to keep turning your shoulders and avoiding eye contact so they DON'T subject you to a complimentary massage...
That awkward moment where it seems like everyone has left the salon but you still have to wait for your nails to dry.
Bringing your car keys, purse and sweater out to your car without anything touching your new nails.
Realizing suddenly that you have an intramural softball game the next day and will have to wear a glove.
Saying goodbye to the people working at the salon, and noticing they all start talking in a different language and laughing at you.
And then of course, the moment you get home and realize your nail is already chipped.
