DIY projects are great. They save us a ton of money, improve our craftsmanship skills and our eye for design, and give us that accomplished feeling we all revel in.
But Mike Warren, professional DIY-er and columnist for Dollar Store Crafts, is on another level from the rest of us. Fortunately, he's also generous in sharing his expertise. Below, he shows how to make one of his newest creations, a "photoluminescent" glow-in-the-dark table. Yes, you heard right, glow-in-the-dark.
First, he starts with a piece of Pecky cypress wood, which has naturally occurring indentations
Then he sands her down thoroughly (power-sander not required, but immensely helpful, obviously)
Then he pours the mixture of resin and photoluminescent powder in the grooves
And voila! A glow-in-the-dark table
But he's still not done
After some more sanding and a coat of polyurethane, along with the addition of some legs, the table is finally complete
Here's how he does it, start to finish
