Everyone knows that Breaking Bad is one of the best shows on TV in recent years, but when you look at some of the incredible detail that went into the show, you'll have an even deeper respect for it.
1. There's a theory that Walt takes on the characteristics of the people he kill...
Like when he started cutting the crust off his sandwiches after he killed Crazy 8.
2. Or taking on the same pre-vommiting ritual that Gus had.
3. Walt's lost pants are one of the first shots in the show...
And in "Ozymandias" many eagle eyed viewers noticed he came dangerously close to finding them once again.
4. Throughout the entire show, there are plenty of call backs to moments from shows past.
Like this line from season 1 episode 7...
Which then gets brought back in season 5 episode 8.
5. Or the way Jack gets Walt's attention.
From season 5 episode 8...
And then season 5 episode 14.
6. Creator Vince Gilligan spent all of season 2 spoiling the end of season 2.
The first, fourth, tenth and thirteenth episodes of the second season each had a black and white intro that showed the aftermath of the plane crash from the end of the season. The first episode was titled “Seven-Thirty-Seven,†the fourth “Down,†the 10th “Over†and the 14th “ABQ.â€
7. The title of the series finale had a few hidden meanings.
First of all, "Felina" is an anagram for Finale. Also it combines the chemical symbols for Iron, Lithium and Sodium; which are important to Blood, Meth and Tears respectively.
8. If you look up the coordinates for the spot that Walt buries the money, you'll be taken to Q Studios in Albuquerque, N.M., where the show was filmed.
9. Do those green squares on the wall look familiar to anyone else?
How about on the hospital floor?
Yeah, you've definitely seen them before.
10. The episode "Ozymandias" takes its title from a sonnet by Shelley that describes the fall of empires...something quite a few characters can relate to.
11. This chessboard in "Ozmandias" is set up in a very specific way. The white king is only a few moves from being put into checkmate.
12. This reflection and bullet hole seem to be foreshadowing something...
13. In the finale, Walt listens to "El Paso," a song that describes a wanted man returning to town to find his love, Felina.
Psst...Felina is also the name of the episode.
14. A symmetry seems to appear between the beginning and the end of the series.
15. In season 2, Jesse thinks they're going to build a robot to save themselves. In the finale, that's basically what happens.
16. There are plenty of times things get repeated throughout the series...
17. Including the similarities between Walt and Jesse's first and last encounters.
18. The show also has a clear reference to Reservoir Dogs.
19. Throughout the first two seasons, Walt's clothes get progressively darker as he falls deeper into crime.
