Cuba has been in the headlines quite a bit lately, and we're pretty sure we can predict what many Americans' reactions have been to this: What does this mean for Cuban cigars??
President Obama announced recently that he was going to begin normalizing the relationship between the U.S. and Cuba, which would entail lifting a decades-long embargo.
The embargo began in Kennedy's era. Kennedy famously imported thousands of Cuban cigars before beginning the embargo, making sure his stock wouldn't suffer.
The embargo goes far beyond cigar sales. Cuba has been considered a terrorist threat by the United States for years, but all of that would change with Obama's new plan.
So Cuban-American relations would improve drastically, AND Americans would legally be allowed to import tobacco products from Cuba! YES!
But all of this depends on Obama getting congressional support. Do the right thing here, guys! Think of the cigars!!
