If you're one of the many girls in the 2000's who grew up wanting to be just like Rory Gilmore, you need to read these behind-the-scenes facts about the show (and then go binge-watch the series on Netflix).
1. Someone else was supposed to play Sookie.
Alex Borstein from MadTV was interested, but couldn't take the role due to scheduling conflicts. Instead the role went to the beloved Melissa McCarthy.
2. The town of Stars Hollow was inspired by a vacation that the show's producer, Amy Sherman-Palladino took.
Within 24 hours of her visit to Washington, Connecticut, she'd worked out a lot of the show's major plot points and some dialogue for the pilot.
3. Liza Weil, who played Paris Gellar, originally auditioned for the role of Rory.
She struggled with playing a mean girl.
4. Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino left the show at the end of the sixth season due to conflicts with the network.
5. Rory Gilmore was Alexis Bledel's first acting role.
She was a model and NYU student before ending up on the show.
6. Skid Row's Sebastian Bach was an unexpected star of the show.
Producers discovered him on VH1's I Love The 70s and asked him to play a member of Lane's band.

9. A spin-off was developed for Jess.
The show was called Windward Circle and it was about his relationship with his dad. It was cancelled before the first season aired.

12. Lorelai received 1000 yellow daisies during the proposal scene at the end of season 1.
