One Photographer Is Showing The Truth Behind Those In The Military

A photographer and student is taking on a task that will change the way you think of veterans and active military personnel. 

Devin Mitchell, a student studying sociology at Arizona State University, wants to show the world how much more there is to veterans than just their time spent serving our country. 

Mitchell's project, called Veteran Art Project, showcases the dual reality that veterans experience in their everyday lives. He told Fox 10 during an interview that veterans face issues of adversity, diversity and triumph when transitioning back into civilian life. He hopes to capture that in these photos. 

These powerful images can be seen on Mitchell's Instagram, @veteranartproject. His goal is to create a 10,000 image photo series.
