Everyone knows that time capsules are pretty much the coolest things around. It's an awesome way to learn about what people were doing a long time ago, or a great way to preserve your life for future generations.
An Oklahoma town recently opened the "Century Chest," which was burried in 1913 and not meant to be opened for, you guessed it, 100 years. These are some of the items that were found in the chest.
A desk telephone from Pioneer Telephone and Telegraph Co.
The Oklahoma State Flag.
An Edison graphophone.
A can of coffee.
Even in 1913, people had their priorities.
A Bible written in the language of the Choctaw people.
The Choctaw was a Native American tribe that lived in the Oklahoma area.
A letter literally from the past.
This was a letter written by the people who made the capsule to those who found it in 2013.
The Constitution, Treaties and Laws of the Chickasaw Nation.
A copy of The Daily Oklahoman from April 22, 1913.
Another letter from the people of 1913 to the people of 2013.
This one is written in braille!
A copy of "Costume Royal Magazine."
