This memorial was designed by Anthem, Arizona resident Renee Palmer-Jones to honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The installation is the center of Anthem's Veterans Day ceremony because it uses light to reveal something truly beautiful.
Each pillar has the seal of the branch it represents and brick pavers around the memorial have the names of service men and women inscribed on them.
This is the Anthem Veterans Memorial.
The memorial in Anthem, Arizona was constructed to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The pillars serve as a place for family and friends to remember and honor those that they have lost and those that continue to serve in the armed forces.
The five pillars represent the five branches of the armed forces.
The pillars are made of marble and stand in descending order from 17 to 6 ft.
The ellipses within the pillars were lined up by chief engineer Jim Martin and are perfectly aligned with the sun.
When the sunlight shines at 11:11 a.m. on November 11, Veteran's Day, the seal of the United States can be seen on the pavement.
