These aren't your mothers' pop-up books!
German artist Peter Dahmen's love of creating 3D pop-up sculptures out of paper started as a fluke. While in college, he was given an assignment to create a 3D paper sculpture. The only problem was there was no safe way to transport the project to class.
Therefore, Dahmen created a way to fold the sculpture flat in a book and have it pop up when opened. He loved the project so much, he decided to create more intricate sculptures in the same manner.
When he opens up the sculptures, it looks like they're coming to life.
This peacock is absolutely stunning.

Here's another awesome example of his work.
And a video to give you every angle.
