This New Pope Just Can't Stop Doing Awesome Things

The Pope's done it again—he's made progressive statements regarding the Church's views, and continued to prove he's the best thing that has happened to the Catholic Church in any of our lifetimes.

The pope has come out and pretty much endorsed evolution and the big bang theory.

He said that the world was not created by god waving around a "magic wand." His statements supported many elements of evolution and the big bang theory, and seemed to stray away from the literal interpretation of genesis.

Pope Francis is not the first pope to acknowledge evolution and the big bang in this light, but he's the first to use such language, denouncing some of the unrealistic interpretations of genesis.

It goes along hand and hand with all of the other awesome stuff the Pope has done recently.

Some of it has been goofier stuff...

...but some has been more serious, like the Pope suggesting that gay marriage may not be all that bad, and softening the vatican's opposition to atheists.

It may feel like baby steps, but this Pope is making a LOT of progress for the Catholic Church.
