A lot can learn about the relationship between two countries by looking at their geographical border.
Some of these borders look cute, quaint, and sometimes even beautiful. Some, on the other hand, show a startingly stark different between two nations.
Look at these photos and you'll see what we mean.
India and Pakistan--Himalayan border
The fact that the enormous Himalayan mountains separate the two nations make for a plethora of metaphors...
India and Pakistan--the floodlit border zone
Incredibly bright lights mark much of the border between India and Pakistan, and it can literally be seen from space.
Spain and Portugal
