Meow the Jewels started as a joke. 

It was a Kickstarter created by the hip hip duo Run the Jewels, and it was said to be a "deluxe version" of their new album, made up exclusively of cat sounds. But when the Kickstarter started getting a totally ridiculous amount of backing (like, upwards of $65,000 ridiculous) it became a real thing. It is actually going to be an album.
