Steampunk is hard to describe...it's just really, REALLY cool to look at.
This type of fan fiction has risen in popularity over the last couple of years, taking characters from popular culture and throwing them in a sort of 19th century machine-powered industrial setting (yet making them appear somewhat futuristic as well).
