One of the most stunning phenomena in nature is that of the Monarch migration, when literally millions of monarchs migrate into a very small secluded part of Mexico each winter season.
Sadly, this migration, in recent years, has been in decline, due to several environmental factors, including a depletion of resources the butterflies need to survive.
So when the National Weather Service (NWS) saw a strange cloud over St. Louis show up on their radar, they weren't prepared for what it really was.
Not only was the radar picking up on the enormous migration, signal patterns actually were able to pick up on what was likely wing flapping.
And of all shapes for the strange cloud of migrating creatures to take...it was in the shape of a butterfly!
So while the Monarchs are still struggling greatly in numbers, it's clear that these creatures still have a little fight (and FLIGHT) left in them.
Don't call it a come back!
