Our bodies are pretty amazing!
1. You use 100% of your brain.
The myth that you only use 10% of your brain is not true. On any given day, 100% of the brain is active.
2. In one year, your body rebuilds itself.
98% of your body is rebuilt in less than a year. For example, your liver only needs 6 months to rebuild, while your stomach lining only needs 5 days!
3. Nerve impulses to and from your brain can travel at 250 miles per hour.
Speeds vary, but the fastest ones are the most important. If you burn your hand on a stove, your brain needs to know immediately so you can remove it.
4. There are more cells in your body than stars in the galaxy.
The entire body is made of 75 trillion cells. There are only 400 billions stars in the galaxy.
5. You are made of stardust!
Everything we know of was created from elements born in stars. Various elements in our bodies were created in stars over 4.5 billion years old.
