If you live in the United States and you're not nervous about another Polar Vortex this upcoming winter, you should be.
Just take a look at these lighthouses from Michigan that were hit by the Polar Vortex in January of 2014.
After a storm hit Michigan in January, Thomas Zakowski, who was on vacation there, knew he had an opportunity in front of him.
Boy, was he right! The lighthouses had ultimately been turned into giant icicles as a result of storm waves crashing, and then freezing, upon them.
When winters are really harsh, such as this last one (and predictions for the upcoming winter are similar), the lighthouses in Michigan can remain frozen for up to a month.
The photos make the whole scene look like a winter wonderland...but I have a feeling the Michigan citizens have a different memory of last winter!
