The country is saying “Guten Tag” to new forms of energy.
On June 9th, 2014, solar power provided over half of the country's energy for one hour - The first time in history this has happened.
This feat is especially amazing when you consider the fact that Germany isn't a very sunny place.
Germany has invested tons of money into growing this form of energy, and has even helped lower the cost of solar panels by 80% over the last five years.
So "danke," Germany! For helping keep the world a little cleaner.
