Sorry, but none of these are true.
1. Chameleons change their color to blend into their surroundings.
The color changing skill that chameleons have is actually to express their mood and mating behavior. Instead of a camouflage technique, it's a way to communicate.
2. If you constantly crack your knuckles, you'll end up with arthritis.
Multiple studies have shown there is no increased risk for arthritis among people who constantly crack their knuckles compared to those who don't.
3. Different parts of your tongue are dedicated to different tastes.
Actually, every part of your tongue can sense all types of flavors.
4. The fruit was called "orange" because it was the color orange.
In reality, the fruit was named first, and then the color.
5. Penguins mate for life.
Yes, penguins will stay with one mate for a season, and usually be with that mate the following season. However, if the mate isn't there the next year, they have no problem moving onto another mate to ensure breeding.
6. Bulls get aggressive at the color red.
Bulls are actually color blind, it's simply the movement of the cape that makes them so angry.
7. Sugar makes you hyper.
A recent study from Yale proves that the hyperactivity that comes from sugar is all in our heads.
8. Coffee comes from beans.
While we may call them beans, coffee actually comes from the seeds of a berry.
9. We lose 80% of our body heat through the head.
You lose the same amount of heat from your head as the rest of your body, but during the winter the rest of your body is all bundled up, so it is probably a good idea to wear a hat.
10. Napoleon Bonaparte was incredibly short.
Napoleon was actually 5'7" which may sound short by today's standard, but at the time, he was taller than the average French male.
11. Goldfish have a 3-second memory span.
Your favorite aquatic pets actually have the ability to remember things for up to five months.

Ok, this one can be a little confusing. Technically, Everest is the highest mountain in the world, but not the tallest. Highest refers to how far above the sea level a mountain goes, whereas tallest is from the base to the summit. The tallest mountain in the world is actually Mauna Kea in Hawaii, measuring 33,465 feet from the base to the summit, and only 13,799 feet above sea level. From base to summit, Everest is 29,029 feet, with none of that below sea level, which is why it is highest.
13. You can kill someone by dropping a penny off the Empire State Building.
The person below would probably feel something, and might be annoyed, but they wouldn't die.
14. Frankenstein was a horrible monster stitched together from other body parts.
Actually, the monster never had a name. Frankenstein was the name of the doctor that created the monster.
15. Vikings wore helmets with horns on them.
There's no actual proof to support this idea. No artifacts have ever been found with horns.
16. It takes 7 years to digest swallowed gum.
Gum actually passes through your digestive system in the normal amount of time, and actually remains pretty much untouched in the process.
